About Sally
Sally has many years of experience teaching the Alexander Technique to riders and others. Her book, BodySense, published in 1998 has been described as “a must in any horseman’s library” (Sally Swift, author of Centred Riding), and she has written articles for the equestrian press, including Horse & Rider, Countryside Magazine, and Country Landowner. Sally has also featured on television.
A keen rider from the age of seven, Sally has ridden with some of the top trainers in both combined training and dressage. She discovered the Alexander Technique after a serious back injury, which left her unable to ride. Her teacher, Irina Jackson, introduced her to Daniel Pevsner, an Alexander Technique teacher and ex-pupl of the famed Spanish Riding School and FBHS. His teaching opened a new door for Sally, and laid the foundations of the philosophy that underlies BodySense.
In 1988, she completed her three year training to become an Alexander Technique teacher, and has since studied a number of complimentary techniques, including Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), which she has integrated into her unique method of training. Based in the attractive border country between England and Wales, Sally runs her BodySense courses for riders at a number of locations, as well as providing general instruction in the Alexander Technique.
